This was the ninth Copa America win for Brazil and continued their record of winning every time they have hosted the tournament.
Brazil were excellent in the tournament and defeated Argentina in the semi-finals. Roberto Firmino was the star of the clash against their fierce rivals as he scored one goal and assisted the other in the 2-0 win.
The Liverpool forward couldn’t register a goal or an assist in the final, but he ended the tournament with two goals and three assists.
Alisson almost unbeatable in the Copa
The Liverpool goalkeeper had not conceded a single goal in the tournament coming into the final.
Alisson was already guaranteed the Golden Glove before the clash, and his perfect tournament ended when Paolo Guerrero equalised for Peru in the 44th minute.
The 26-year-old Alisson also won the Golden Glove in the Premier League and the Champions League, and continued his fine form at the Copa America.
The Brazilian pair should return in high spirits ahead of the Premier League season, and many Liverpool fans congratulated them after another trophy.
