Mohamed Salah rested for October international break
Mohamed Salah is set to be rested for the October international break, according to Egypt Today (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The Egyptian did not participate in the previous international break either, with Sadio Mane also handed a break. Salah has been extremely busy over the past two years, playing in the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
The report claims that the Liverpool star will miss the friendly with Botswana but was initially included to face the African nation.
The 27-year-old has been exceptional for the Reds since joining two seasons back and helped us land the Champions League too. The Egyptian hasn’t been rested for too many games this season, but this break will do him a lot of good.
Salah needs to stay sharp
Liverpool’s first game after the October break is against Manchester United, and we need to keep picking up the wins.
The Reds have a five-point lead over Manchester City but cannot afford to drop silly points this season.
The Red Devils haven’t been all that great and should be there for the taking at Old Trafford. Our next game against Leicester isn’t easy, but we should be strong enough to get three points.
