Galatasaray interested in Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri
Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in Xherdan Shaqiri, according to Nicolo Schira (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The Swiss star hasn’t featured much for Liverpool this season despite a minor injury to Mohamed Salah.
Shaqiri was one of our summer signings from the previous campaign but has struggled for minutes since the second half of last season.
The 27-year-old hasn’t made a start for us in this campaign and has played just 14 minutes of football.
Shaqiri had missed a chunk of this season with an injury but recently made his return to training.
The Swiss international would want to feature more under Jurgen Klopp and should get his chances in the coming months.
A packed schedule for Liverpool
The Reds play in four competitions in December and have a game almost every three days.
Klopp has to rotate his side around as it is impossible for our starting XI to be the same for the upcoming months.
Shaqiri should get some minutes in the league and could also play in the Carabao Cup. It will be interesting to see what team the manager picks for the Club World Cup semi-final too.
Liverpool have been exceptional this season but have one major game in the coming.
We travel to Austria and face Red Bull Salzburg for a place in the Champions League knockout rounds.
