Jurgen Klopp claimes that the Premier League is as strong as ever
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed claims that Liverpool only has such a sizeable lead over their opponents due to the Premier League being the weakest it has been in years.
The Reds are on course to win the Premer League in record time. The title could be wrapped up as soon as March 21st if Liverpool fail to drop any more points until then.
Liverpool’s dominance has led to a number of critics questioning the veracity of the league’s competitiveness. The claim goes on to speak of the lack of a potential challenger given Manchester City’s troubles and Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur being in varying stages of transition.
Klopp has rubbished these claims and showcased City’s win away to Real Madrid as a perfect embodiment of the league’s strength.
“If they think City are not as good as they were – they ARE!”
He admitted that City has indeed scored less and conceded more goals this season, but that is to be expected when you miss key players. He went on to say that both Tottenham and Chelsea continue to be difficult teams to play against in spite of their defeats to Bayern Munich.
Liverpool are on course to win their first league title in thirty years and are looking to do so in some style. In spite of winning nearly all of their games, Klopp stressed that the Reds can still improve.
