Liverpool not keen on splashing big money on Wolves winger Adama Traore
According to Birmingham Live, Liverpool will not spend up to £70million for the transfer of Wolverhampton star Adama Traore in the summer window.
The 24-year-old spent three seasons in England before making the move to the Molineux in 2018. He has shone under Nuno Espirito Santo and has turned into a key player for the pack.
Primarily a right-winger, Traore can also play on the other wing. He has scored 7 goals and 13 assists in 79 games since joining the club.
A player possessing both pace and power, the Spaniard is a real handful. He has put in a number of memorable performances this season where he has outthought and outmuscled the opposition.
Wolves scored an impressive double over reigning champions Manchester City this season. Traore was the star in both games as the City defence could find no answer to the player’s direct style
He scored both goals in the fixture at the Etihad before leading the Wolves back from two goals down to earn a famous 3-2 victory. An impressive upturn in form saw him win the PFA Player of the month for January.
With a number of eye-catching performances, it is only natural that the winger is linked with a move to the biggest clubs in the land. That does not get any better than the Reds right now as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to establish themselves as champions.
Strength in depth
Liverpool have a solid front three that can be compared to any attack in world football today. Playing in a system geared to get the best out of the trio, the Reds have no shortage of options up front.
The quality becomes markedly lower when we look at the backup. Divock Origi is inconsistent while Xherdan Shaqiri has rarely stayed fit this season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been excellent. However, his best performances have come in the middle of the park rather than out wide. On paper, Traore looks to be a perfect addition to come off the bench to make a difference for us. However, despite the interest and the player’s abilities, a big-money move to Anfield does not appear right.

A tank of a player, Traore is a rough diamond who has shown signs of polish this season. His direct style has caused problems to defenders this season. It remains to be seen if he will stay at the Molineux or make a big-money move elsewhere.
