Timo Werner taking English lessons as move to Liverpool edges closer
According to Bleacher Report (h/t Mirror), RB Leipzig superstar Timo Werner has been taking English lessons with a move to the Premier League on the cards.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the prolific 24-year-old who has led the Leipzig side with aplomb this season. Liverpool face competition from Chelsea, who are also keen on signing the player. Werner has made quite the impact this season as his goals have kept Leipzig within touching distance of Bayern Munich in the title race.
The prolific forward has lit up the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in 36 appearances this season.
Werner is contracted at the Red Bull Arena until 2023 and has a £51million release clause that is active only until the end of this month. The player too is receptive of a move to Anfield and has been vocal about his admiration for Jurgen Klopp and the Reds.
The fact that he is learning English could be a sign of the move being close. The news will also come as a blow for Barcelona and Bayern Munich, both of who were keen on signing the player.

The addition of Werner will give Klopp a number of options. We have been over-reliant on our front three for goals, with the backup options too inconsistent to be trusted.
Werner is miles ahead of the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi. Both of them have failed to hit last season’s highs. Signing the striker should be a no brainer for Liverpool. Beating Chelsea to him will be an added bonus.
