PSG president rules out Kylian Mbappe sale amid Liverpool interest

Speaking to L’Equipe (h/t Daily Star), PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has ruled out the possibility of selling superstar Kylian Mbappe amid links to Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Since breaking out as a teenager in 2016 at AS Monaco, the Frenchman has grown into one of the best forwards in the game. Mbappe signed for PSG in 2017, initially on loan, with the deal being made permanent a year later. In his four years at the capital club, the 22-year-old has been scoring goals at a prolific rate, cementing his status as one of the finest young players in the world.

However, heading into the summer, his future at the club has been a subject of intense speculation. This is because Mbappe sees his contract with PSG expire in 2022 and is yet to sign an extension. This situation has given away to strong interest from the likes of Real Madrid, as well as Liverpool, both of whom have been tailing the striker for a long time. (h/t Daily Star)

But, PSG president Al-Khelaifi is confident that Mbappe will be staying put at Parc des Princes this summer and beyond that as well, claiming that the club will never sell him, thus delivering a blow to Liverpool and Madrid.

“I will be very clear: Kylian Mbappé is going to stay at PSG. We will never sell him, and he will never leave for free.”

Having recently managed to tie down fellow superstar Neymar to a new deal, PSG are confident of doing the same with Mbappe as well.

“All I can say is that things are going well [with Mbappe]. I hope we can reach an agreement.”
