Agent of Saul Niguez to fly to England amid Liverpool, Man United talks
According to the Mirror, the representatives of Saul Niguez are set to jet to England on Monday as Liverpool and Manchester United vie for his transfer.
Barring a year away on loan, Saul has spent his entire career with Atletico Madrid, but saw his importance within the side reduce over the last season. Now angling for a move away, the 26-year-old has been granted permission to hold talks to sort his future by the reigning La Liga champions.
Liverpool have a long-standing interest in the Spanish international, as do Manchester United, with the two clubs now being said to be the front-runners for his signing. And, it is now being claimed that Saul’s representatives will be arriving in the United Kingdom on Monday to thrash out a deal.
The midfielder wants a resolution by mid-August when the new season kicks off, as per the report. Saul has a release clause worth a whopping £125m, but Los Rojiblancos are willing to let him leave for a much lesser figure of £40m, making the deal even more of an attractive proposition.
Liverpool are in need of an addition to the midfield department urgently after having seen Georginio Wijnaldum move on following the expiry of his contract. In addition, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could also be allowed to leave for the right offers (ESPN h/t Daily Star).

In Saul, Liverpool would get a top-quality midfielder who has proven himself at this level for a number of years now. And, at 26, the Spaniard still has his best years in front of him. At £40m he could be a great catch. So, Jurgen Klopp & co. should do everything to beat Man United to his transfer.
