Mohamed Salah to receive new Liverpool contract soon
According to news from Sunday World (h/t Mirror), Mohamed Salah could be the latest Liverpool star in line to receive a new contract. Those behind the scenes at the club are confident that the Egyptian forward will renew his deal soon amid speculation that he could move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
There are probably not a lot of words to describe the impact Mo Salah has had at Liverpool since his arrival from Roma four years ago. Within that short time span, he has gone on to become the seventh-highest goal scorer for Liverpool (h/t Transfermarkt). He is 32 goals shy of Michael Owen and 35 off of Sir Kenny Dalglish.
Salah has powered Liverpool to a Champions League in 2019 and a Premier League in 2020. Even with most of the forwards struggling last season, Salah kept plundering the goals to help Liverpool into the top four. He finished the season with 31 goals and has started the current one with a goal as well.
Despite his heroics for Liverpool, there are slight worries about his future. Recent times have seen speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, those fears can be allayed as he is likely to be offered a new deal soon and there is confidence from those behind the scenes that he will extend his stay.
