Fans react as Liverpool learn their fate in the Group stage of the UEFA Champions League

As reported on the UEFA website, Liverpool will face the likes of Atletico Madrid, Porto, and AC Milan in the group stage of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League season.

The Reds will have mixed emotions about this, as it is a relatively tough group. The Merseyside outfit finished 3rd in the Premier League last season and featured in Pot 2 of the seeding process.

The Merseyside outfit will not be too keen on facing last year’s La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid. The Spanish outfit have been incredible in UEFA competitions in the last decade as they have won 3 Europa Leagues in the last eleven years, while they have also twice finished as the runners-up in the UEFA Champions League in the last 8 years of the competition.

Liverpool will face Porto, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan in this year’s group stage of the UEFA Champions League

Further, the Reds will also be facing Porto, who finished second in the Primeira Liga last season, only five points behind winners Sporting CP. Jurgen Klopp and co. will be aware of the Portuguese outfit’s calibre as they did reach the quarter-final last year after defeating heavyweights Juventus in the Round of 16.

Lastly, the Anfield outfit will compete against AC Milan, and there will be mixed feelings about this game. One of Liverpool’s most heroic Champions League victories was against the San Siro outfit in 2005, while the Serie A club also got their revenge two years later when they won the final against the Reds in 2007.

Jurgen Klopp will be aiming to guide the Merseyside club to their 7th European title, which will make them the joint-second on the list of clubs with the most Champions League trophies.

Let us take a look at how some of the Liverpool fans reacted to the club’s UEFA Champions League Group stage draw.
