Transfer News: Liverpool and Arsenal in contention for RB Salzburg ace Karim Adeyemi
Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal are in contention to sign the 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi.
Reports from the Daily Mail (h/t football.london) suggest that Gunners are keen on signing the German international as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazatte who has less than a year left in his contract.
Adeyemi has just under three years left in his contract but the Austrian club is apparently willing to sell the German striker at somewhere around £17million.
Adeyemi has scored 11 goals in 16 games for the Austrians this season and has also made two assists. The Austrians clearly know how to nurture their strikers.
He was also called for international duty by the German side only recently in the FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Armenia. He is currently going from strength to strength and could become a top striker in the future.
Liverpool have an excellent front three, all of who are currently in their prime. They will need to inject fresh blood upfront sooner rather than later as the trio is not getting any younger.
Adeyemi. given his potential and age. could prove to be the login term solution the reds crave. Jurgen Klopp’s side is also a much better prospect as compared to Arsenal who are nowhere in the top bracket of teams anymore.
