Liverpool said to be ‘prioritising’ a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham
According to CaughtOffside (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are prioritising a sensational swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old has quickly become one of the biggest young talents in European football after his switch to Germany. This has seen the Dortmund midfielder linked to a host of top clubs.
The Reds are only one among many European top-flight clubs interested in Bellingham. Both the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid also all said to be monitoring the player.
It is reported that Liverpool believe they can make a ‘tempting’ offer for the England international, as the Merseyside club are interested in building a team around him in the future.
However, this will not come easy for the Reds as it is likely that Dortmund will command a huge transfer fee to let go of Bellingham his summer. This summer may also see Erling Haaland depart the Bundesliga side, should his release clause be triggered.
With Dortmund not wanting to lose two of their biggest names in the same window, clubs monitoring Bellingham may be forced to wait until 2023 to strike a deal for the player.
Bellingham has been a revelation for Borussia Dortmund since his move from Birmingham City. The midfielder has set the Bundesliga alight with his performances in the middle of the park.
The teenager’s impressive displays have also seen him become an England international over the last year, further cementing his rapid rise to stardom in the span of a couple of years. Given that Liverpool’s midfield is ageing, it makes sense for the club to make a move for Bellingham.

It is no surprise that our club has been linked to Bellingham, given our interest in signing the world’s best talents and competing at the top. Having established himself as a top midfielder at just 18-years-old, signing the Englishman is an exciting prospect as we could turn him into our midfield mainstay for years to come.
The Dortmund man’s potentially high price tag may deter us from making a move in the summer. But if we are to sign one amongst the best in the world, it may not only be worth breaking the bank for a player of his calibre.
