Fabio Carvalho speaks about reuniting with Harvey Elliott at Liverpool

One of three Liverpool signings this summer, Fabio Carvalho spoke about linking-up with fellow Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott for Liverpool following their time together at Fulham.

Speaking to LFC’s Matchday Programme (h/t Liverpool Echo), Carvalho talked about his reunion with Elliott, calling it “sick”. The 19-year-old Portuguese youth international labelled his mate as a “top player”.

“We played for the same team growing up but we also went to the same school which is something that some people might not know.”

Liverpool were set to sign Carvalho in the January window itself, but delayed paperwork on Deadline Day of the window saw the move fail through. Thankfully it picked up pace later on.

The 19-year-old showed glimpses of brilliance in the Pre-Season tour of Asia, and quite recently almost scored a 90+5 winner at the Kop end against Crystal Palace on 16th August, his shot eventually missing the target.

Carvalho joined Liverpool off a wonderful league campaign with Fulham overseeing their promotion to the Premier League. In 36 appearances, he scored 10 goals and got eight assists. Speaking about his bond with Harvey, he also said the following

“So me and him have been tight for a few years now, since a young age. It’s good to be back with him and it’s good to be playing football with him as well because that’s something I really enjoy. He’s a top player.”

The young starlets of Liverpool clearly share a great camaraderie and chemistry off the pitch. Fans would hope for this to translate on the pitch as well, as these two shall combine to be a very integral part of the club’s future.

With Darwin Nunez now suspended and speculation over Roberto Firmino’s fitness, Carvalho can push a strong case for himself to get a good few minutes in the upcoming games, starting with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
