French newspaper L’Equipe claimed on Saturday, that Liverpool would be willing to sell their star man Philippe Coutinho, to PSG. They stated that the Reds would sell the Brazilian if his €90million valuation is met.
L’Equipe believe that signing Coutinho is very do-able for PSG, if they can offer €90million. The deal would also hinder on whether Liverpool have an adequate replacement waiting in the wings.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, wishes to build a team around Coutinho. Although, the club appreciate that it may be difficult to hold on to the former Inter Milan playmaker, who has also attracted the interest of Barcelona.
PSG’s pursuit of Coutinho seems more substantial though, and the Parisians will make the player their priority this summer, if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe. Unai Emery’s side are looking to strengthen the squad, having lost the Ligue 1 title to Monaco, last season.
Monaco are unlikely to sell Mbappe to rivals PSG. Their chances of signing the 18-year old look slim. He has been backed to join Real Madrid this summer if he does leave his current team (Daily Mail).
The reports in France may have come via PSG. If so, then they seem to fancy their chances of taking Coutinho from Liverpool.
Coutinho has developed into Liverpool’s star player during his time at the club. The Merseyside outfit returns to European football next season and will be hoping that a possible qualification to the Champions League, could help convince Coutinho to remain at Anfield.
Liverpool have already bolstered their attacking options this summer. Mohamed Salah signed for a club record £36.9million from Roma, while, Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke, joined on a free.
Coutinho is happy at the club, and now feels at home in the city. The Brazilian signed a new five-year deal with the club earlier this year. He has also benefited from Klopp’s management as the German has helped to take his game to another level.
