Liverpool have unveiled their blazing new orange third kit for the 2017/18 season in Hong Kong, which is their first stop for the pre-season friendlies.
Crafted by New Balance, the likes of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and James Milner starred in the photoshoot while Simon Mignolet showcased the goalkeeper’s kit. This kit will make it’s debut in Reds’ Premier League Asia Trophy encounter against Crystal Palace, on Wednesday. Consisting a black collar, Liverpool, on their official website said,
“The New Balance kit continues the design theme to mark LFC’s 125th anniversary year, incorporating the commemorative Liver bird crest, and will be worn by the players for the first time against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.”
This kit, like Liverpool’s others, will be acknowledging the club’s 125th anniversary. Furthermore, in the memory of the Hillsborough disaster victims, the 96 emblem has been skinned on the nape of the neck. With this being done, the goalkeeper’s kit has been designed in a Toxic Green colour with the sleeves being given a varied pattern. Highlighting the “bold citrus”, the strip has been inspired by “the original wooden signage of the famous Kop stand”.

Lallana said: “Scoring in front of the Kop is the best feeling in the world. It’s a special place for the whole LFC family so it’s brilliant to see a kit inspired by it. “It definitely stands out, I like it and will be a nice reminder of the Kop every time we wear it.”
General manager of New Balance Football Richard Wright said: “This year’s campaign is all about celebrating what makes Liverpool FC the iconic club it is today and the Kop is certainly a key icon in the club’s 125-year history.”
The fans, on their part, had mixed emotions and this is how they reacted on Twitter. Read on!
