Young Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott on learnings from Roberto Firmino

As quoted by Liverpool Echo, young Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott talked about his learnings from Roberto Firmino and a message to the next club the Brazilian will join.

A few days ago, it was revealed that Firmino has decided to leave Liverpool on a free transfer once his contract expires at the end of this season.

We could see the outpouring of emotion when the 31-year-old scored the seventh Liverpool goal against Manchester United on Sunday. The reception he will get for the next two months at Anfield will be something to behold.

Here’s what Elliott said about Firmino, learnings from him and a message to his next club (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“Roberto is amazing as a player and a person. He has helped me out massively. He always has a smile on his face no matter the situation and for me he’s been a big help, trying to learn things off him and he’s one of a kind.”

We all know about the unselfish nature of Firmino, who played almost as a goal provider for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all these years while working tirelessly for the team without the ball.

The 31-year-old is one of those players who can almost be blindly trusted by the manager. That is what Jurgen Klopp did, by playing in a false nine position to connect between midfield and attack.

While we Liverpool fans are sad about him leaving this summer, it is probably the right time to make the changes. Cody Gakpo is slowly integrating himself into the Firmino role, while Darwin Nunez and Salah are flying either side of the Dutchman.

Virgil van Dijk spoke about how the January recruit is learning from Firmino and trying to perfect the number nine role for him.
