Alan Hutton backs Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to revitalise career away from Liverpool
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moving on from Liverpool is just a matter of time. Noted Journalist Fabrizio Romano also posted the same via Twitter not so long ago. The player, even though immensely talented, in these many years at the club has not been able to cement for himself a spot in the playing XI, either due to injury issues or inconsistencies whenever available.
In 146 appearances for the club across all competitions, he has 18 goals and 15 assists. He has missed 98 games at the club due to various injury issues, with a major chunk of them coming in the 2017/18 season when he tore his ACL, which obviously has had a lasting impact on his career.
However, former Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton certainly feels that the Ox still has a decent amount of gas left in his tank and could be of extremely great use for a side like either the Midlanders or Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, here is what Hutton had to say on the former Arsenal midfielder making use of his ability for another club in the Premier League:
“He has been involved in the Liverpool team this season but it is probably not enough for him. He has had his injury problems but he has to play regularly to get back to his best.”
“When you think about Aston Villa, they are trying to go places, we know what Newcastle are trying to achieve. They are all good options for him.”
“I think he has still got the ability, if he keeps himself fit, to play at that level no problem.”
Chamberlain to move on
The player is injury-free for the moment and could make a strong push to start games more regularly and earn himself a move to a club wherein he could showcase his abilities better. While there is no denying his talents, the fact that he remains unavailable for selection in most games is a huge problem that comes with him.
His case is extremely similar to that of Naby Keita as well, but unlike the Guinean, there was a phase wherein Ox was totally unplayable and was a strong midfielder for the Reds in the 2017/18 season wherein he was virtually the best midfielder in Merseyside for a good fat phase before his ACL injury.
Moreover, according to an older report from the Daily Mail also suggested that the player is a transfer target for Brighton and Hove Albion as well alongside Newcastle United and Aston Villa. In case he goes to the Sussex side, he would be the second injury-prone extremely talented Liverpool midfielder to join the Seagulls in recent years.

The first one was obviously, Adam Lallana. However, speaking of the Ox, with a lack of fit midfielders at the club presently amid a lot of inconsistent performances as well, Chamberlain would want to start games and end his career with the Reds on a high.
With nine league games to go for the Reds, Liverpool should ideally play football on the front foot and try to get outright results which could help propel them towards a top-four finish and UCL qualification for next season.
