Barcelona are targeting a move for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold
According to Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), Barcelona are eyeing up a move for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer transfer window.
Although the deal looks tough at the moment, the Spanish giants do not feel it is impossible due to the current situation of Liverpool.
Let’s move forward and not pay much attention to this link, shall we? Alexander-Arnold’s current deal at Anfield runs until the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt), and we may expect him to sign an extension any time in the coming years.
He is the local lad who naturally loves playing for Liverpool. And he has done a good job at that so far. Despite recent criticism due to the drop in form, the 24-year-old has won every trophy available in club football at such a young age. Not many can boast of that record in their lives.
He may want to double or triple his trophy count here before the end of his career. While his form hasn’t been great this season, Alexander-Arnold has become an integral part of the mini turnaround in form in the last two games.
Jurgen Klopp has switched his role a bit, which is getting the best out of the player. He still starts at right-back but moves into midfield when the team is in possession. In this way, he won’t have to run 50 yards to make a recovery run and Liverpool have an elite passer in midfield during their build-up play.
Coming back to the original story, transfer links like these do not make much sense. It also does not feel logical that Alexander-Arnold will move from Liverpool any time soon.
