Galatasaray want Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate on loan

Take a while to read the headline again and soak it in. Turkish outlet A Spor via ECHO report that Galatasaray want to sign Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate on loan. The French centre-back has been impressive during his second season with the Reds, despite the entire team struggling for form.

Galatasaray, currently top of the table in the Turkish top flight, may be looking to add Konate to their squad as they look set for a return to the Champions League. The Turkish side may now be looking to attract a higher calibre of players to their club and Konate appears to be on their radar.

Liverpool are a top-tier club in the world of football, and Konate is an integral part of their future plans. As such, it would be ridiculous for Liverpool to even consider selling or loaning out one of their best defenders to another club.

Jurgen Klopp has put a lot of faith in Konate and he has been an important figure in Liverpool’s defence this season. Klopp would be loath to lose him and would do everything in his power to ensure that Konate remains at Liverpool for the foreseeable future.

Ibou to head elsewhere?

Konate has only just started to show his potential to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League. It is unlikely that Liverpool would let go of a player with such potential, especially to a club that is not at their level.

The idea that Galatasaray could possibly sign Konate seems totally baseless and almost comical. Konate has been nothing but impressive during his time at Anfield and is seen as a vital player for Liverpool’s future plans.

It is highly doubtful that Liverpool would even consider entertaining an offer for the 23-year-old, let alone take it seriously.

While Galatasaray may be keen on signing Konate, Liverpool fans need not worry as there is absolutely no chance that this would happen. Klopp and Liverpool’s management would certainly do everything in their power to keep Konate at the club for the long term.

Konate has the potential to become one of the world’s finest centre-backs, and he would obviously want to do that at a top European club like Liverpool instead of elsewhere, with all due respect to Galatasaray who are Turkish giants themselves.
