It has been a long and tiring January for Liverpool. The Reds forked out £75m for Virgil van Dijk earlier this month before letting Philippe Coutinho live his dream by joining Barcelona.

While Daniel Sturridge has also departed Anfield for West Brom on a short loan-deal until the end of the season, there are no signs of any new arrivals despite us being linked with a number of players.

Rumours of Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez to Liverpool have been doing rounds ever since the winter transfer window started.

There have been calls by the entire fanbase for Coutinho to be replaced but our manager Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water, suggesting he is not interested in bringing a replacement now. Going by that fact, expect hardly any business to be done in terms of incomings at the club on the transfer deadline day.

But as far as the outgoings are concerned, there could be few players willing to leave our club – on a temporary basis or permanently.

But Klopp insists Danny Ings will not be leaving Liverpool, despite rumours linking him with a move away from Anfield.

“It would be funny if someone calls for Ingsy,” Klopp was quoted by the Mirror.

“I would love to respond! No chance. We will see what happens. There’s no chance Ingsy is on the market tomorrow. Only if I’m unconscious! But yeah, maybe something happens, that is possible. We will see.”

One player who could depart the club today is Lazar Markovic. The Serbian is a forgotten man at the Merseyside and the Daily Mail claims Swansea are keen on taking him until the end of the campaign with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer. Wolfsburg and Spartak Moscow have also shown concrete interest in the player.

Here’s how Liverpool fans are reacting on Twitter on the transfer deadline day.
