Fabrizio Romano gives promising update on Liverpool FC’s pursuit of Alexis Mac Allister
Fabrizio Romano (h/t Liverpool Echo) believes that Liverpool want to resolve the final details of the deal concerning Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister in the coming days.
It was earlier reported by Fabrizio that Mac Allister and Liverpool have almost agreed on personal terms with the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder set for an early switch in the summer transfer window.
Now Fabrizio reiterates the same via his tweet:
“Liverpool want to resolve final details of Alexis Mac Allister deal as soon as possible to avoid competition; full agreement on personal terms is really close.
#LFC Plan is to leave #BHAFC early in the window, been told the move could be done and sealed in June.”
Manchester United were also keeping taps on the player but it seems like the player’s preference is Liverpool, despite the fact that we might miss out on Uefa Champions League qualification.
Roberto Firmino’s late equaliser against Aston Villa has given a very small ray of hope that we could still make the Champions League which would only be possible if United lose both their remaining games while we win our last fixture.
It looks promising but there is nothing guaranteed in football and we can still hope for the best outcome for us. A top-four finish would definitely allow us to attract top-quality talent in our revamp for the upcoming season and allow us to be a strong force again. Even without it, there is little other option this summer.
Irrespective of the above scenarios, it does feel like we would be adding Mac Allister to the ranks which is a huge boost considering how impressive he has performed throughout the year.
Brighton are an impressive team to watch and most of their game is run by Mac Allister from midfield. Hence adding his energy and style to the Liverpool squad would be a massive boost.
