Thiago Alcantara considering Liverpool exit in the summer transfer window
Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara is considering his future at the Merseyside outfit in the ongoing transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
As things stand, the Spain international still has one year left on his current contract at the Anfield side. However, the midfielder is contemplating parting ways with the Reds to restart his career elsewhere.
To that end, clubs in Saudi Arabia, as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray, are interested in acquiring the 32-year-old’s services. However, he is keen on returning to La Liga this summer. Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo and Sevilla are some of the teams that have been linked with the former Barcelona star.
Thiago made his way through the youth ranks at the Blaugrana before following Pep Guardiola to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2013. After several successful years at the Bavarians, Liverpool signed the midfielder in the summer of 2020.
Over the years, the 32-year-old has been a key player for us and has been a big part of our success. Unfortunately, fitness issues have been a recurring theme for the Spaniard at the Anfield side.
Thiago has found himself on the sidelines in every season he has been at the Reds. In the previous campaign, the midfielder made just 28 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
However, at his best, the Spaniard has the ability to conduct games and dominate the middle of the park. But it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will end up selling the 32-year-old.
As things stand, we have added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to our ranks. However, the Reds are about to lose Jordan Henderson and Fabinho this summer.
