Harry Redknapp predicts a Liverpool win over Brighton this weekend
Even though Liverpool will be understaffed heading into the away fixture on Sunday against Brighton, Premier League icon Harry Redknapp believes that the Reds have it in them to get the better of Roberto de Zerbi’s men.
Both teams are just one point apart on the table with Aston Villa separating the Reds in fourth and the Seagulls in sixth. Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota would be unavailable for selection because of their controversial red cards in an even more controversial Tottenham loss last week.
Even with this disadvantage, Harry Redknapp feels that Liverpool have enough players who could step up and get the better of Brighton come matchday. The Seagulls also will not have Pervis Estupinan in their squad due to an injury issue.
Speaking to BetVictor via ECHO on the potential outcome of the game, Redknapp sided with his son’s former team and here is what the 76-year-old had to say:
“I’m picking Liverpool. They’ll both create chances, but I trust Liverpool’s defence more than I trust Brighton’s. With Jota suspended, I think Nunez will come into the side and could cause Lewis Dunk a lot of trouble. That will be a good battle.”
The former Premier League manager highlighted Liverpool’s defensive strength as a key factor, suggesting that it outmatches Brighton’s. He also pointed out that with Jota suspended, Darwin Nunez might step into the lineup and pose a significant threat to Brighton’s defence, particularly against Lewis Dunk.
Redknapp’s choice to back Liverpool in this encounter reflects his faith in the team’s overall quality and their ability to cope with the absence of key players. The battle between Liverpool and Brighton promises to be an intriguing one, with both sides capable of creating scoring opportunities.

Liverpool fans will hope that Redknapp’s optimism stands well-founded and that the Reds can secure a valuable victory on the road against a strong Brighton side. Add a bit of a revenge angle to that given our last visit down south did not yield the best possible result.
