Liverpool want Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville to bolster their attacking department in the summer transfer window
Liverpool are monitoring Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville intending to sign him during the summer transfer window. Summerville is enjoying a productive season for Leeds United in the Championship as they currently lie fourth in the table.
Liverpool have a very diverse attacking department with each player bringing something different to the table. However, apart from Luis Diaz, the Reds lack an orthodox winger capable of dribbling past opponents with pace and agility.
Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah’s role in the team has changed since he lost a bit of pace due to ageing. The 31-year-old relies more on his technical ability and link-ups with his teammates than dribbling past opponents.
Anfield Watch (h/t Liverpool Echo) reported that Liverpool’s scouting team have monitored the progress of Summerville this season. The 22-year-old has £20.5m release clause in his current contract with Leeds, relatively cheap given the inflated market prices.
Standing at just 1.74 metres, Summerville has a small stature, helping him maintain balance with a low centre of gravity. The Netherlands U21 has extremely good dribbling and close control combined with a threatening pace and deceptive strength.
He enjoys a direct style of play, initiating counter-attacks for his team while covering distances and beating opponents one-on-one. The 22-year-old is a versatile winger, capable of playing in both the left and right flank with ease.
Crysencio Summerville is on super stats since October: 10 goals and 5 assists.

Summerville is unpredictable down the flanks as he can cut inside or go down the byline to create threats. His main preference is to get inside the opponent’s box and create goal-scoring chances for himself.

The 22-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions, contributing with 12 goals and six assists so far this season. His high productivity in both goals and assists makes him an all-round contributor to his team.
Summerville can be a fantastic signing for the Reds given his age and the qualities that brings to the table. The 22-year-old already has a good amount of experience in the English league and Liverpool have many Dutch players. Additionally, the low release clause makes him a shrewd deal that Liverpool are well-known for.
