Kylian Mbappe’s future in Liverpool seems possible as he is ‘not impressed’ by Real Madrid
Liverpool have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s forward Kylian Mbappe to secure the Frenchman in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 25-year-old’s future is up in the air as he is currently in the last six months of the contract with the French club, which would mean that he could sign another extension with the French club or sign for another club at the end of the season, for which the star forward has several options.
According to Liverpool ECHO (via Duncan Castle of The Times), Mbappe had informed his friends that Real Madrid would not be deciding his professional future. Carlo Ancelotti’s side had first shown interest in signing the player during his days in Monaco in 2017, a deal that came close to completion but ended up being hijacked by PSG in the August of the same year. This was followed by two other failed attempts in the summers of 2021 and 2022.
Another potential failure in the upcoming transfer window would mean that the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s endeavor of signing the player into the Anfield side might see fruition.
According to Liverpool ECHO, Luis Enrique’s side is not worried about losing the attacking ace. The French giants wouldn’t lose financially even if Mbappe ultimately refuses an extension with them come June. According to Diario AS, the PSG captain had agreed to waive his loyalty bonuses, which estimate to around £80 million, should he leave for free in the summer.

Beside the talented roster that the Reds head coach will no doubt put together, Mbappe’s addition at Merseyside would allow him to blend well with the team’s attacking style of play and consequentially elevate the Reds to the stature of a force to be reckoned with.
However, signing Mbappe is far-fetched and highly unlikely to happen. Liverpool fans can dream all they want but it will be a huge surprise if this move actually comes to fruition.
