Liverpool star Curtis Jones sees the bright side in Arsenal copying the celebration made famous by Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones sees the positive in Arsenal copying the “fist bump” celebration of Jurgen Klopp. Curtis claimed that the copycat celebration from Arsenal shows that the club is on the “right path.”
Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-0 at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League clash that opened up the title race. Liverpool are still at the top of the Premier League table but Arsenal and Manchester City have moved very close.
Furthermore, Man City have a game in hand and winning it would take them to the top of the table. Arsenal faced criticism from several pundits for over-doing their celebration after winning the Premier League game.
Their celebration included the Gunners captain Martin Odegaard taking a picture of an Arsenal fan. Furthermore, their manager Mikel Arteta celebrated the win by copying Klopp’s famous three-fist pump celebration towards their fans.
Last season, Arsenal blundered a massive eight-point lead near the end of the season as the Citizens secured another title. The Gunners faced a lot of criticism and mockery for their pre-mature celebration, which they are doing yet again.
Speaking to BBC, Curtis took their copying of Klopp’s celebration as a sign of being the trendsetters. He said:
“The celebrations and all, that is all nice but for many years, we’ve always been a team, our fans have spoken about it and the gaffer himself, you know, the way he fist bumps the fans and stuff. That’s kind of like our thing. So if they want to be stealing our stuff, then it shows that we’re on the right path and we’ve got these who are copying us.”
Liverpool does not have a monopoly over celebrations and songs but other rival clubs have copied them time after time. Bitter rival Chelsea copied the whole song that the Reds sang for Fernando Torres when the Spaniard joined them.

Furthermore, rival clubs still sing the song about Steven Gerrard, a mock rendition of the song made by the Kopites. Other clubs have sung Gerrard’s name over many of their legends even if they meant to mock Liverpool fans.

Jones made a very legitimate point while spinning it positively but Arsenal fans have not taken his words kindly. Many believe that Arsenal’s complacency and reactionary attitude is the reason they have failed to win the Champions League at all and they bottle so many trophies.
