Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley talks about his versatility while praising vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold for his ability to play anywhere.
Conor Bradley hypes up his versatility and praised Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold for being capable of playing at any position. Trent is currently recovering from a torn lateral knee ligament injury that has sidelined him since this year’s January.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provided Bradley the opportunity to shine in the absence of Trent during this period. The 20-year-old used the opportunity to solidify his place in the senior team by putting in consistent performances for the team.
Despite the serious injury crisis that ravaged them, he has played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s successful run of form. He scored his first goal for his country during the March international break, taking his club form to the international level.
Bradley has made 18 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, contributing with a goal and six assists. He has received immense praise from the fans and the media for showing quality in both offensive and defensive phases.
As quoted in the Mirror, Bradley compared his journey to the senior team with Trent’s while praising their versatilities. He said:
“He’s [Trent] had a similar pathway to me coming through the academy, so there are many things I can take from him – the way he plays football, the way he conducts himself every day and how hard he works. Trent’s an unbelievable footballer and I think he could play pretty much anywhere. I was playing right wing for Northern Ireland on Tuesday when I got my first international goal so I’m pretty versatile myself.”
Trent has featured more as an inverted right-back and as a number six this season, showing a potential shift to midfield. The England international dominated the midfield as a number six and showed more maturity on the ball.
He is the best playmaker that Liverpool possesses and at the central position, Trent showed his ability to dictate the tempo. The Reds vice-captain understands what fullbacks require from a number six while covering the spaces off the ball.
