Liverpool edge Barcelona in the race for Dani Olmo

Liverpool FC have been linked with multiple high-potential players as the management at Anfield look to give Arne Slot his picks for marquee signings this summer, which has led the Reds to be interested in RB Leipzig defender Dani Olmo.

The Reds enter the post-Jurgen Klopp era, and the Kop can expect ample changes; however, one that remains constant is building a team talented enough to compete for silverware. While Liverpool did so in the last season, a lack of stable creativity did hurt them at times. This is where Dani Olmo comes into the picture.

Slot would love to have a creative outlet who is capable of generating between-the-line passes while also being adept at dribbling past opponents. And in Olmo, they get a player who has proven his credentials in Germany and Spain.

Filling the creativity void in Liverpool’s new era

Liverpool lead Barcelona in race for RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo.

The 26-year-old has accumulated 29 goals and 34 assists in 148 appearances in all competitions since joining RB Leipzig in 2020. He has not only become an integral part of the Red Bull-owned team but has also made a name for himself, which has gotten him a ticket to represent Spain in the on-going European Championships in Germany.

Liverpool will be looking to sign high-quality players in about all departments this summer; however, getting hands on a physical defensive midfielder and an attacker should be among the priorities in their window blue-print.

Getting hands on Dani would not be an easy task for Liverpool, as Spanish giants Barcelona are looking to acquire him as well. However, the Premier League giants lead the race, per Marca, owing to the financial struggles at Camp Now.
