Liverpool star Luis Diaz will stay at the club after Barcelona exhaust a significant amount of money on signing Dani Olmo

Barcelona signing RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo means they lack the sufficient financial power to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. The transfer saga that started during the middle of the last season could end with no results in the end.

Diaz has joined Liverpool after serving Colombia in the Copa America after helping his country reach the competition’s final game. The Colombia international will play a crucial role under new head coach Arne Slot as the Premier League draws near.

Last season, Diaz played under Jurgen Klopp through many unexpected struggles from a disallowed legitimate goal to his parent’s high-profile kidnapping. However, the 27-year-old remained a key starter for the Reds and regained his fine form during the season’s second half.

Diaz’s father stoked the fire when he claimed that the Colombian is a Barcelona fan with a potential move possible. The rumours continued to grow as the Catalan giant maintained their admiration for the player since he played for Porto.

According to Liverpool Echo, Barcelona have agreed a £47.5 million for Olmo which takes a sufficient chunk out of budget. The situation allows Liverpool to keep Diaz without any worry about his commitment as the player has maintained that stance.

Liverpool fans adore Diaz, who conducts himself with utmost respect and love for the club and its supporters. The 27-year-old will compete for the left attacking position with Cody Gakpo and both players can also play together.

The attacking department has versatility and fluidity to play in various positions according to the tactical requirement of the manager. Fans are anticipating Diaz to thrive under Slot’s style of play that they witnessed in the pre-season tour this summer.

Slot uses his forwards to stretch the play and allows them freedom and creativity, something Diaz has in abundance. The 27-year-old is at the peak stage of his career and if he remains fit, the Colombian could unleash his full abilities next season.
