Liverpool probably have their best start to the Premier League season in a while. While many were worried about the departure of Jurgen Klopp, the new head coach has surely taken the league by storm. From football pundits to former players everyone has liked what they’ve seen of the Reds’ after three match days. In the aftermath of the international break, there are a few players who shined on their national duties too. While few also managed to shut down the criticism with the opportunities given.
Sergio Aguero is impressed with Liverpool
Former Manchester City star Sergio Aguero is the latest admirer of the Arne Slot era. The five-time league winner wasn’t shy to express how impressed he is by how they’ve started the campaign. Talking to Stake.com (h/t Liverpool Echo) , the Argentine said:
“They’ve proved to still be one of the teams to beat to get the title, just like it has been over the past few seasons.”
“But then again, it’s not about the start of the season, it’s about landing the finish. The Premier League is all about consistency, so that’s the element to make note of.”
What Aguero says in his praise can also be taken for a pep talk. Liverpool has managed to keep a 100% record with seven goals scored and none conceded. As the great striker mentioned, consistency and the same ethics throughout the season will be a key factor. Not losing your way and keeping that winning mindset will be something Slot will have to look after. But after a positive start like this to a campaign with a new head coach, there is nothing else you could ask for.
