“Will always be a fan of yours!!” – Some Liverpool fans pay an emotional tribute to departed Reds star

Liverpool did not sign a player on the transfer deadline day but we did see one striker leave the club – Danny Ings.

Sky Sports has reported that the former Burnley man joins the Saints on loan this season before making a permanent switch in 2019.

The report further added that Ings would be joining the club on a four-year deal after his loan spell and the Reds could receive £20m for the striker, with a guaranteed £18m and the remaining amount based on appearances.

The striker has had his injury concerns during his time at Liverpool and even Jurgen Klopp paid a heartfelt tribute to the English striker.

The manager was quoted by Sky Sports as saying:

“We say farewell to a friend, but for Danny I know the best chapters in his personal story are still to be written. He is as fit now as at any point of his career I would bet and he just requires the opportunity.

“He has that opportunity and on behalf of his Liverpool family we say good luck Danny and we will miss you.”

Klopp also added that the Englishman embodied “character and spirit” during his time at Anfield but had no real luck during his time at Liverpool.

While Klopp shared his thoughts on Ings’ departure, some fans were quick to share their reactions to the transfer.
