Jurgen Klopp believed his side made more mistakes than the referee in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal. The German commented on Sadio Mane’s effort which was ruled offside but wasn’t completely upset at the decision.
Klopp was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying:
“I think it was a goal. So, do I feel aggrieved? I’m not sure. I think it should have been a goal, that’s how it is, it’s a football situation.”
Our manager hailed the attack which saw Roberto Firmino hit the post and Mane slotting the ball into the net, but was a little unhappy the move didn’t pay off.
“And so it’s a pity that it didn’t count but we made a few more mistakes tonight than the ref but in this moment it would have been nice if this goal had counted.”
Liverpool scored first through James Milner but Arsenal had their chances to equalise. Alexandre Lacazette got the goal late on in the game, but it was a good point for us in the scheme of things.
The pressing concern for Klopp should be how ineffective our midfield and attack were in the first half. All our best chances fell to Virgil van Dijk and the Dutch defender couldn’t get past Bernd Leno.

The next game for the Reds is against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, and hopefully, we will batter them and get back to winning ways.
