Opinion: 3 Players Who Could Blossom Under Jurgen Klopp’s Management

The big day comes closer for Liverpool fans, the team are set to take the field against Tottenham in the first game of the coming weekend and everyone will watch the game keenly to see if Jurgen Klopp has been able to transform the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp

Picking up from where Brendan Rodgers left off, Klopp does have a decent team at his disposal and he has to work with the lot at least till the January transfer window. The German has a history of doing well with young players and developing them into the stars that were at Borussia Dortmund.

While Klopp hasn’t revealed much about what his starting lineup could be or the players that could start against Tottenham, we look at three players who could reach their potential under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino

The recently signed Hoffenheim attacker was one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season but he can’t seem to get his act right at Liverpool, possibly because he was not deployed in his more familiar role of playing behind the main striker.

Firmino’s work-rate and attacking ability should make him a great option for Klopp’s system and he could end up playing in the same way, the Bundesliga version of Firmino did play. He is injured at the moment, but the good thing is that Klopp knows or has seen a lot of Firmino over the years and that can only work in the favour of the Brazilian.

Alberto Moreno

The Spanish left-back recently got his place back in the starting XI after being dropped at the start of the season for the much younger Joe Gomez. Moreno was one of the hottest properties in Spanish football when he left Sevilla but has not been able to translate that into a clutch of amazing performances at Liverpool.

He still is one of the fastest players in the Liverpool team and that will be something that Klopp would want to exploit in his team which is expected to be more dynamic and faster than the team that Rodgers would deploy. Moreno is only 23 at the moment and has a lot of time to grow, Liverpool fans will be hopeful of that for sure.

Emre Can

Used in a range of positions in his short career at Liverpool, the German international would be expecting a bigger role to play in the season. Can has been played as a right back, centre back and a defensive midfielder for Liverpool. His role in the German national team has also changed from that of a midfielder to being deployed as a right back.

Can is a decent box-to-box midfielder, or at least he was when he joined Liverpool from Leverkusen. He is one of the most passionate players on the pitch and playing under Klopp could help his development into something bigger and better in the centre of the park for Liverpool.
