Liverpool Likely To Pay More Than £12m For Striker

Premier League outfit Liverpool might have to pay a bigger fee than what they had originally expected to pay for superstar forward Danny Ings, after the 23 year old attacker made his England debut, as per Sky sources. The Reds did not finalize a deal with his former club Burnley when he chose to move to Anfield on July 1 after his contract with the Clarets had expired and the fee will be settled by a tribunal.

Ings is still under 24 and The Championship side are still entitled to compensation, though a date for the Professional Football Compensation Committee to settle the matter has not been fixed yet.

The striker came on as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Lithuania on Monday and a report by Sky Sports has stated that Burnley are now expecting a higher compensation than before.

The club wanted a fee of £12m previously in the summer that Tottenham were more than ready to pay that figure, though the striker had his heart set on a move to the Merseyside.

A call to The Three Lions’ squad should increase the likelihood of them receiving further add-ons in any deal ordered by the tribunal.
