After thrashing the newly promoted side Hull City last weekend, Liverpool are now preparing for the next showdown of the Premier League. A trip to the Liberty Stadium has been scheduled for the Merseysiders and they will be facing Swansea City.
Liverpool, right at this very moment, are on fire as they are unbeaten in four league games and to add more to it, they might welcome their star defender Dejan Lovren in the lineup this weekend. The Croatian, who missed the last fixture for the side due to a viral infection, has recovered fully and has returned to full training.
Dejan has had a strange start to the new season as he has missed 2 of Liverpool’s 6 games – both home games. Earlier this month, he missed the first home game against Leicester and after that, the Hull’s game of course. Lovren will have to work his skin out to impress the manager for the return, and if he fails, then he will have to wait until October 17th when Liverpool will welcome their arch rivals Manchester United.
Liverpool do need to find a stable centre back pairing and it seems like Lovren and Matip are working really fine. Their performance against Chelsea was worth praising, but both needs to stay fit to find that much-needed consistency. Well, one this is sure; if Klopp thinks he is ready for the game, then the Croatian will be a 100% starter for the side.
