Liverpool Plotting £26 Million Move For This Highly Rated Italian Star

Liverpool are set to make a big money move for one of their targets from Italy. Italian newspaper Il Mattino suggest that the Premier League leaders are looking to sign Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne. The Reds could be looking to submit a bid of £26 million for the Naples star.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Italy international for a number of years and it isn’t a surprise that they could be making a move for him now. The Premier League leaders have been playing some fantastic football and they do need to add more quality in their side.

As stated earlier, Jurgen Klopp is looking to add more attacking players in his side as Sadio Mane would be away on African Cup of Nations duty. The injury to Danny Ings has also ensured that Liverpool have to move in the transfer window and Insigne would be a great option for the club.

There are reports of problems regarding the contract for the Italy international and Liverpool are hoping they can move swiftly to complete the deal.

A good signing for the Reds

While many players have been linked with a move to Merseyside this season, especially thanks to their great performance in the campaign, Lorenzo Insigne could be the right man for the club. There are many who believe that he would be a replacement for Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho but the Naples man is a different player to the Brazilian.

Insigne is known for his pace and ability to dribble past opponents. The 25-year-old is also known for his range of passing and setting other players up while Coutinho does score the odd spectacular goal. That is the one region of his game that Insigne would like to improve but if he can create as many chances as he normally does, he would be great for the Reds.

There should be no doubt; Insigne would be a great addition for the Merseyside club but only if Coutinho also stays at the club. Bringing the Napoli man to replace the Brazilian would be a huge folly on the side of Liverpool and they need to keep hold of their players this season.

Bringing Insigne in would also cast a shadow on the future of Daniel Sturridge as the England striker isn’t a starter for the Reds anymore. Liverpool do have a lot of quality in attack and if they can capture the mercurial Italian, they could have the best attack in Europe as well.
