Are Liverpool In Line To Sign Another Brazilian Talent From Inter?

Liverpool do have a few Brazilians in the squad and according to the latest reports from the Mirror, they could be bringing in another star striker to the club. Gabriel Barbosa joined Inter Milan at the start of the current season for a reported fee of around £26m, but it has not worked out for him so far.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has played just one game for the Serie A club and his agent has let rip at the management of the Milan club.

Wagner Ribeiro was speaking to Radio Globo and was quoted as saying:

“Why isn’t he playing? Not even Inter can answer that.

“When he came from Brazil they said he wasn’t ready physically, but now he’s in great shape. The truth is that they haven’t even given him a chance.

“Gabriel was a starter at Santos, called-up by Brazil and has been an Olympic champion. Then he was sold for an amazing figure.

“We’ll resolve this situation in January, he has a five-year contract but that doesn’t mean anything if he isn’t playing.

“He’s unhappy right now.”

Another Coutinho situation developing?

Philippe Coutinho was also a player that just was not getting the playing time at the club earlier and was signed for a cut-price by the Reds. The same could happen with Barbosa according to a number of sources but the price could be an issue given that he had signed a five-year deal with the Italian giants.

Liverpool, for their part, have been looking to add some attacking quality to their side given that they will lose out Sadio Mane will be playing in the African Cup of Nations. They also will be without Danny Ings until the end of the season and even Daniel Sturridge is struggling to stay fit for a long time.

Barbosa would certainly be a great signing for any club as his versatility is one of his biggest traits. The youngster can play all across the front line and even play in an attacking midfielder’s role. He might not be the greatest when it comes to helping out the defence but that is something he can work on under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool also have Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva in the side, so Barbosa wouldn’t feel out of place at Merseyside. An attacking trio of Firmino, Coutinho and Barbosa would also ensure that Liverpool have quality for a number of years but Klopp would have to really work hard to make this deal work out.
