Liverpool In A Four-Way Battle To Sign This ‘New Hatem Ben Arfa’

Jurgen Klopp has been known for giving opportunities to youngsters during his time at Liverpool and it should be no surprise to see the Merseyside club linked with a move for one of the rising stars in French football.

Amine Harit has broken into the first team at Ligue 1 side, Nantes and has been labelled as the next “Hatem Ben Arfa”. The 19-year-old has made 18 appearances for the club this season and has one goal to his name.

Calciomercato believes that the German manager likes the play of the attacking midfielder and the French player is extremely versatile as he can play almost anywhere at the top end of the pitch.

It isn’t just Liverpool who seem to be interested in the rising star of French football and Paris Saint-Germain are also looking to bring the midfielder back to the club where he spent some time as a youth player.

There is also an interest from the two Milan giants, AC and Inter, and it is believed that the pair are leading the race in signing the youngster up. The clubs have scouted the midfielder on a number of occasions, according to reports, and they are looking to take the player away come the end of the season.

Could Harit be the midfield option for the Reds?

While Harit is having a great first senior season with Nantes, expecting him to move to Liverpool seems to be just a rumour that the papers are cooking up. Liverpool already have a number of options for the midfield and they certainly are more accustomed to the English league when compared to the young Frenchman.

Klopp does like to provide opportunities to youngsters but Harit does seem to be closer to a move to Italy more than moving to Merseyside and the rumour could just be used to pump up the value of the 19-year-old before his impending transfer away from the club.

The Reds have more pressing concerns at the moment with their attack really getting hampered in January. Sadio Mane is joining the Senegal side for the African Cup of Nations while Philippe Coutinho should just about make it back to the club after an injury he picked up against Sunderland.

The Merseyside club will also be hopeful of a return to the side from Daniel Sturridge and the Englishman could hold the key to Liverpool finishing this season in the top four at least.

Harit does also need more time to ensure his all-around play develops and sticking to France would be the best option for his career.
