Done Deal – Liverpool Complete First Summer Signing With £300,000 Czech Republic Ace

Liverpool have completed the signing of Czech Republic goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros, who had caught the attention of several Premier League clubs with his talent over the last few years.

At just 15 years of age, Jaros is regarded as a player who could develop into one of the top goalkeepers in English football. He has already been on trial at various clubs like Southampton, but it appears that Liverpool are expected to conclude the deal to bring the 15-year-old in the next few days. Jaros also spent time on trial at Liverpool back in October.

Further, Martin Krob, the chief executive of Slavia Prague, has confirmed the transfer.

He told Czech outlet Aktualne: “The agreement exists.

“Now we are dealing with the details and Jaros will become a Liverpool player in the summer.”

First-team goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius will not have any reasons to be concerned about the arrival of Jaros, as it may be several years until he makes his presence felt in the first-team – if he makes progress as expected. It is believed that the transfer fee is around £300,000.

After having come through the youth ranks at Slavia Prague, the player has been keen on moving to the major European leagues in order to start playing with the best players. A move to Liverpool presents a great option for the youngster.

Since the decline of Pepe Reina towards the end of 2009, Liverpool have been unable to find a regular shot-stopper who would be able to win at least 10 points for the team over the course of the season. Other top clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal have goalkeepers who are capable of winning several points for the team.

Jurgen Klopp does not have this luxury, as both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have been making several mistakes over the course of the season. Rather than earn the team a few points, these two goalkeepers have made mistakes that have lost several points for the club.

Liverpool are expected to make it a priority to sign a top-class goalkeeper if one becomes available in the summer transfer window. For the time being, Mignolet and Karius would be continuing in goal.

Jaros would go straight into the Liverpool youth team and will be hoping to break into the reserve team in the next few years. However, it may still be a long time before the fans get a chance to see the player in the first-team.
