Jamie Carragher

There is a lot of action going on at Goodison this season as Ronald Koeman has been on a buying spree for Everton. Our bitter rivals recently signed Michael Keane from Burnley on a five-year deal and the fee could rise to a club record £30million.

The Toffees have also signed Sandro Ramirez, who cost them just £5.2million from La Liga side Malaga. They also signed Henry Onyekuru and Davy Klaassen but one of their best buys has to be former Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford.

The owners at Everton certainly have loosened their purse strings and have spent more than £90million this season and it would be fair to say that they will be adding a few more players to the side.

As we fret over the lack of a defender or a midfielder this season, Jamie Carragher took Twitter to claim that no Liverpool fan should be worried about our rival’s spending spree.

The legend shared an image of Jurgen Klopp grinning during the holidays with the caption:

“When Everton sign 4/5 players but none of them would make the Liverpool team!”

Big Battle On Hand For European Places

Last season saw a mammoth battle for the top four and we came out on top, just about, with a fourth placed finished and Champions League football (if we win our qualifying games).

Everton didn’t fare too badly as they finished 7th and will be playing in Europe too (Europa League). However, we picked up wins in both the Merseyside derbies and more of the same will be expected from Klopp’s men this season as well.

We are still in the market for a few players that will bolster the squad. Mohamed Salah is a great signing for us and Carra certainly could be onto something when it comes to those players not being good enough to start for our side.

Getting cocky does come back to bite you in the end and hopefully, we won’t suffer any letdowns this season and attempt to get better in the second full season under Klopp.
