Liverpool Striker Drops A Big Hint On Social Media Over The Arrival Of Arsenal And England Star

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has dropped a subtle hint urging the Reds to make a move for Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain, on social media. The pair play together for the English national team and are friends.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored 20 goals in 194 appearances for the Gunners, and is reportedly open to the idea of moving to Anfield. He has grown frustrated with his lack of game time at Arsenal, having looked a star of the future a few years ago.

Sturridge took Instagram to drop a hint to manager Jurgen Klopp.

The striker liked a post which read: “So are you coming to Liverpool Alex. Would be a smart move lad.”

Liverpool have been linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain for quite a while now, and it does seem that there is interest from both sides. Arsenal are demanding a fee in the region of £25million for the player.

The Merseyside club, though, would face competition for the former Southampton man’s signature. Manchester City and Chelsea are also believed to be ready to make a move, according to Sky Sports.

A move to Liverpool would make sense for Oxlade-Chamberlain. He would be playing in the Champions League next campaign, unlike Arsenal, and would probably gain more minutes on the field.

He has suffered a few injuries over the past few years, which have hampered his progress at the Emirates Stadium. At Arsenal, luck has not been on his side so far.

Sturridge, meanwhile, is not guaranteed to be a Liverpool player himself, come the start of the new season. He has been frustrated with his lack of game time as well and has been linked with a move to West Ham United. Though, Klopp isn’t the striker’s biggest admirer and but reports have emerged claiming the German wants to hold on to Sturridge.

Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke has been brought in already this summer, and this could put increased pressure on Sturridge. Danny Ings is also set to return from injury, for the pre-season.

Sturridge and Oxlade-Chamberlain have become friends during their time with the English national team. A video was released before the 2014 World Cup, in which Oxlade-Chamberlain mimicked Sturridge’s famous goal celebration dance, in front of the laughing striker.

‘The Ox’ to Liverpool maybe?
