‘Abandoning the wife to find a sports bar’ – Liverpool Fans Lose The Plot After Salah And Moreno’s Performance

Scheduled to face an all-confident Bayern Munich side, Jurgen Klopp decided to line the strongest possible XI which included the attacking quartet of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane. The likes of Jordan Henderson and Loris Karius were given the nod as well, while Alberto Moreno started too.

Liverpool started posing their attacking threat soon after the first whistle, as Roberto Firmino set up the Senegalese within 7 minutes. The 25-year-old made no mistake in beating Sven Ulreich. Only some minutes later, the Reds almost doubled their advantage as a pinpoint Alberto Moreno cross found Salah. But the Egyptian failed in his attempt.

He, however, made up for his miss after Mane and Moreno combined perfectly to deliver a simple tap-in for the former Roma winger. With 7 minutes remaining on the clock, Daniel Sturridge wrapped up the contest, only to get a thigh strain and be removed from the pitch.

Sturridge’s injury woe remained the only demoralising event for Jurgen Klopp as they eased past Bayern Munich like anything. Not just the attack, but the defence was spot on as well. While Trent Alexander Arnold managed to minimize Ribery’s threat, Alberto Moreno kept Thomas Muller in his pocket as well.

Having said that, Liverpool are edging closer to lifting their second pre-season trophy as they face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in Wednesday’s final. And this is how the Twitterati reacted to our performance:
