Reports Claim Klopp Is Coming To Terms With Coutinho’s Exit: Barca Expect Developments Within 48 Hours

Spanish La Liga side Barcelona believe that there would be fresh developments in their chase for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho reports the Express.

As a Liverpool fan, it is really heartening to see Liverpool spurn all the advances of Barcelona for our star midfielder. The Brazilian is a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s scheme of things and there is no way that Liverpool would part with him this transfer window.

Barcelona have already failed to price him out of Anfield with three successive bids

failing to move Anfield chiefs on the issue. The frustration for Barcelona is evident because, following the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalans have been facing obstacles in their pursuit of every target.

However, there is increasing optimism within Ernesto Valverde’s side that a deal would eventually happen for Coutinho after agreeing a £138 million fee with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Ousmane Dembele.

They have now set their sights on finalizing a deal for Coutinho and Spanish outlet Don Balon claim that the club expects a huge development by Sunday.

Player wants to move but will the club let him go?

The Spanish side is aware of the player’s willingness to move to Nou Camp this transfer window. Coutinho has reportedly indicated the same to Liverpool chiefs although he has stopped short of forcing a move.

The 25-year-old’s camp is reportedly looking to release a statement indicating his eagerness to jump the ship. If he does, that would be the first public statement of willingness from Coutinho over the move.

There is still optimism within Anfield that further rejections of advances would get the player back to terms with the situation and get back into playing mode.

Will that work?

That’s the biggest question for now. Barcelona believe that Jurgen Klopp’s insistence towards Coutinho’s stay is changing and the German could be coming to terms with his potential departure.

How would the fans feel? Obviously, keeping hold of Coutinho would be a big boost but most of the fans would want a quick solution – either way. There is no point in having a disgruntled player in the ranks and honestly, I did not miss him in the season’s action so far – both in Premier League and Champions League.

I know it sounds more like sour grapes but if selling Coutinho is the logical end to this saga, so be it!
