The big deal of the transfer window could still pull through for us as Liverpool are interested in signing Monaco’s 21-year-old star Thomas Lemar. The Telegraph claims that we want to sign the French midfielder for a club record fee and are willing to go up to €70million.

Lemar was one of the best players for the Monaco side last season that picked up the Ligue1 title and the French international can play as a winger or a creative midfielder, which has led many to believe he will be a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian was not in action during the 4-0 hammering of Arsenal and with Barcelona looking to add more firepower to their side, Coutinho could still see a big move to the Catalan side.

Liverpool do require more quality players for a side that is going to be playing in the Champions League and Lemar would be a wonderful signing for a team that is hitting their form. Losing Coutinho would be a major blow and even though the club has insisted on keeping the star at Anfield, there were a number of fans who are fretting that the Brazilian will be leaving and Lemar would be coming in.
