Liverpool Submit An Audacious Bid For Real Madrid Superstar – Spanish Reports

Big news coming in from Spain claims that we are looking to sign one of Real Madrid’s most prolific strikers from recent years. Diario Gol (h/t Mirror) claims that Liverpool have made a bid for French striker Karim Benzema.

The striker found the back of the net 11 times last season but is reportedly open to a move away from the Spanish side. Florentino Perez is actually considering selling the 29-year-old and this could be a move to sign another big name player for the La Liga side.

The French forward has scored 181 goals in 369 appearances for Los Galacticos since joining them in 2009-10 and has been one of the best imports from France, for the Spanish league.

However, even with his goal-scoring exploits, the former Lyon striker has always been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital and with Jurgen Klopp looking to add more quality to our side before the end of the transfer window, the deal could be one of the big ones which we need to clinch.

We have had a poor time in recent weeks as our hopes of signing Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita seem all but over but Klopp did recently state that he would be looking to add more players, thanks to our Champions League qualification.

Benzema is lethal in the box and isn’t bad at helping out the attack too as he does have a decent work-rate. The problem lies with the fact that he would not play regularly for the first-team as we seem to have found the perfect striker for our team in Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian has been on fire and his performances against Hoffenheim, and Arsenal last night, have shown that he will be one of the key players for us this season.

There could be another big problem in our hopes of signing the 29-year-old. The Frenchman earns £150,000 a week, which would be tough to match given our wage structure. This does seem to be a rather random rumour as news from our club has slowed down since our apology for tapping up Van Dijk.

If we somehow do sign Benzema up, it would mean we are to lose one striker at least, with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings playing second fiddle to Firmino. It would be tough for this deal to go through and unless a miracle takes place, we will not be adding more strikers to our side before the end of the window.
