Naby Keita has landed himself into some hot water with the German authorities. The Guinea star has been one of the best players for RB Leipzig since they were promoted a couple of years ago but reports from Germany suggest that he forged the documents to attain a driving license in Germany.
The 22-year-old seems to have a fake driving license from his home country, which he used in order to get a license to drive in Germany and ESPN
reports that the midfielder could face a six-figure fine. The report also adds that the £45m-rated midfielder might have been driving in Germany without a valid license and that is a big issue in itself.
The midfielder has already agreed to join Liverpool at the start of next season, though many hope that he will be able to join us in January. We have had a number of issues with Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho, both of who seem to be heading towards the exit door at Anfield.
Things have not been great for Keita on the pitch too. The Guinea star has already been sent off thrice this season and there have been questions about his attitude while playing for the Bundesliga side.
Keita has just one goal and an assist in the Bundesliga after 8 appearances, which does not match his incredible return from last season, where he scored 8 goals in 31 Bundesliga games and also had double digits when it came to assists.
There is no doubt that Jurgen Klopp believes Keita can be the missing link in our midfield and the 22-year-old does have the ability to really make a difference for us next season. What might be a concern for a number of fans is the fact that top clubs from Europe looking to sign our players.
Keita has to work on his attitude, as this season has not been the best for him so far. Hopefully, he can turn around his fortunes before he starts playing for the Reds.
