Liverpool Dealt With Positive News As Bundesliga Giants Back Out Of Race For £45m Target

Liverpool’s hopes of signing one of Bundesliga’s rising stars in Timo Werner have been given a boost. The German has been on fire for RB Leipzig from last season when he scored 21 goals in 32 games, and he has started this season in the same vein of form as well.

The 21-year-old seems to be the next target for us and it should not come as a surprise that a number of other clubs are also looking to sign him too.

Bayern Munich, who seem to want to buy every good player from the Bundesliga, have been linked with a move for the former Stuttgart man but reports state that the Bavarian giants are not interested in the £45m rated Werner at the moment.

“We had a pleasant lunch with FC Bayern. We talked about everything, but we did not talk about Timo Werner”, Oliver Mintzlaff, the sporting director for Leipzig said about Werner’s future, who was quoted by Liverpool Echo.

Werner seems to be the perfect player for our playing style. The German has the pace to play alongside Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and even Sadio Mane and he has the composure to do well in front of goal too.

His ability to score important goals cannot be understated, and he is strong enough to hold off the opposition defence. His ability to read the game is also something to be noted.

It will be interesting to see just where Werner might end up going, given that Leipzig made our life really tough in our pursuit of Naby Keita. The Guinea star might play a bit of a hand if we want to bring Werner over but signing the German attacker also raises questions about the future of our current strikers.

Daniel Sturridge might have scored a couple of goals recently but he could be on his way out. Additionally, Divock Origi is on loan at Wolfsburg and there are chances that he too could be another departure from Anfield.

The fact that we have a couple of youngsters in Rhian Brewster and Ben Woodburn looking to break into the first-team also makes it tough for someone like Sturridge to stay at the club. The Englishman’s injury record has played a huge role in him falling down the pecking order and Werner does not really have a history of major injuries.

The German will cost a bomb, that is a surety but he would be a great signing for us given that he has a number of years left in him, with a ton of potential as well.
