A brilliant brace by Roberto Firmino along with goals from Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho handed Liverpool an important 1-5 away win against a stern Brighton unit.
Roberto Firmino’s standout performance has made him Liverpool’s highest scorer since his debut back in 2015. Firmino has now netted 26 goals in the Premier League since his debut. Furthermore, another away win means Liverpool have won three consecutive away league games after enjoying just one victory in the previous five on the road.
Mohamed Salah, on his part, didn’t score a goal, but he did manage one assist and that means the Egyptian has played a part in 15 goals in his first 15 Premier League games for Liverpool – more than any other player for the club (12 goals, 3 assists). Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League games – 5 wins, and 1 draw.
“It looks like we are flying,” said Klopp after Liverpool’s fifth win in six league games, as quoted by BBC.
“Unfortunately it’s not like that, we have to work really hard. We need results. In our calmer moments we are a really good team, but we need to carry on. I’m much more interested in the next game. We need the points – we want to stay as close as possible to the teams in front of us.”
