“Klopp is a football scientist”, “Poetry in motion or what?” Liverpool fans on cloud nine after 2-0 win

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah set up the goals for each other as Liverpool defeated Southampton in a game which saw Virgil van Dijk return to St. Mary’s for the first time since his move to Liverpool.

Liverpool, on the other hand, doubled their advantage some three minutes before the break after Roberto Firmino’s majestic back-heel released Mohamed Salah through on goal.

It was a sheer specimen of a proper fluid football. The win means Klopp has now completed a half-century of Premier League wins as a Liverpool manager. It took the German 95 games to achieve this feat.

Also, talking numbers, Mohamed Salah has been directly involved in 29 Premier League goals this season (22 goals, 7 assists), the most by a Liverpool player in their debut season. To add to it, Salah has scored 19 left-footed goals in the Premier League this term – the joint-most by a player in a single season, alongside Robbie Fowler for Liverpool in 1994-95.
