“He looks imperious in that Liverpool strip” BBC pundit compares Reds star to Keegan, Dalglish and Barnes

Mohamed Salah was at it again, this time against Southampton, as the Egyptian scored and assisted in our 2-0 win over the Saints. What could have been a difficult game didn’t turn out to be much of a test and the goals from Salah and Roberto Firmino ensured we stayed at 3rd place in the standings.

The goal was Salah’s 29^th of the season, far greater than what many of us would have expected when he joined us from AS Roma. His incredible performances have seen him being likened to a number of stars from the yesteryears.

Garth Crooks, who is a pundit for the BBC, heaped praise on the 25-year-old and claimed that the former Chelsea man is in the same class as some of our legendary players.

The Liverpool Echo carried quotes from Crooks where he even spoke about Salah’s role in both goals and how good he looks for the Reds.

“There is just no stopping Mo Salah at the moment. He made Liverpool’s first goal against Southampton and scored the second, and that was before half-time. He looks imperious in that Liverpool strip.

“I’ve seen Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes generate extraordinary hysteria at Anfield and it looks like Salah is in that class. I’m not sure who is enjoying his performances more, the player or the Liverpool fans.”

Salah On The Right Track For The Reds

The players that Crooks spoke about certainly light up Anfield during their time at the club and had even won a number of trophies, something we have to do with the recent crop of players.

Salah seems set to get better in the years to come under Jurgen Klopp but there will always be a fear of losing him to one of the bigger clubs in Europe. We have to win trophies to ensure the Egyptian stays at the club and helps us build a dynasty to dominate the Premier League, at least, for a number of years to come.

While Salah is doing his bit, we can only hope that we finish in the top two this season and also go as far as possible in the Champions League. This season seems like a great marker for the next one and hopefully, Salah and the rest of the team will have something to celebrate in the future.
